Luci Willits, a national education policy expert, joined Age of Learning as the company’s first vice president of public policy. In this role, Luci’s priorities are to show policymakers how EdTech innovation fuels lifelong learning for students while providing support for educators and caregivers. Her work is instrumental in bridging the gap between technological advancements and educational needs, ensuring that the benefits of digital learning resources are fully leveraged for every child.
Prior to Age of Learning, Luci led organizations in public and private arenas including MetaMetrics and Curriculum Associates. Luci served as the Deputy Executive Director of Smarter Balanced, the nation’s largest testing consortium, during the critical time of the first administration of the assessment. As Chief of Staff at the Idaho State Department of Education, she influenced policymakers, passing over 100 education policy advancements. Luci began her education public policy work as the Communications Director for the Idaho Board of Education.
Luci is an active citizen diplomat. She is a 2019 Marshall Memorial Fellow. Luci was also part of an accomplished group of bipartisan young professionals who traveled to China and Taiwan on behalf of the American Council for Young Political Leaders. Her first citizen diplomat experience was in 2009, as part of Rotary International’s Group Study Team to northern Germany.
